Xenogenesis is an interpretation of the science fiction novel Dawn by Octavia Butler which is the first book in a trilogy called The Xenogenesis Series. It is a story of the last surviving members of the human race being rescued by an alien race after a nuclear holocaust. These humans are placed in suspended animation and re-taught how to survive on a modified planet Earth. Lilith Iaypo is chosen to lead the first humans back to Earth with the knowledge that all future offspring will be a mixture of human and alien DNA. The Xenogenesis saga is about her coming to grips with her enormous responsibility and the reaction of all parties involved to these mixed species children. My video takes snippets of the introductory story and tries to convey the themes in visual terms without dialogue.
